Choosing the right Workplace First Aid Kit.
It is often confusing when selecting a first aid kit for your workplace. Small, Medium or Large… which one should you choose to be compliant with the regulations around First Aid provision? Here is a simple guide to help you make the right choice…
Small First Aid Kits
Suitable for up to 25 people (low-risk environments)
Suitable for up to 5 people (higher-risk environments)
Medium First Aid Kits (this product)
Suitable for 25–100 people (low-risk environments)
Suitable for 5–25 people (higher-risk environments)
Large First Aid Kits
Suitable for 100+ people (low-risk environments)
Suitable for 25+ people (higher-risk environments
The above is based on British Standard BS 8599 guidance and typical UK workplace risk assessments. In higher-risk environments, first aid supplies are used more frequently and need to support more serious injuries – so a larger kit is recommended for fewer people.
If your workplace spans multiple floors or buildings, consider placing multiple kits in accessible locations rather than relying on a single larger kit.
